Job Description

Whataburger is a renowned fast-food restaurant chain that has been serving up delicious, made-to-order burgers since 1950. Known for its commitment to quality, customer service, and community involvement, Whataburger prides itself on creating an environment where employees can grow both personally and professionally. With locations throughout the Southern United States and beyond, Whataburger has built a legacy of excellent food and a strong team culture that values collaboration, leadership, and innovation. The company's mission focuses on integrity, teamwork, and providing exceptional experiences for every guest. It offers a clear career path for those who are ready to take on challenges and develop their leadership skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

The Shift Leader role at Whataburger is a pivotal position that ensures the restaurant operates smoothly during each shift. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence and maintaining high standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness. Your leadership will be key to coaching and motivating team members—referred to as Family Members—helping them build confidence and improve their skills. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment. You'll work closely with the Restaurant Manager team, sharpening your leadership skills and helping to manage the daily operations of the restaurant. Shift Leaders are essential for supporting goals related to food cost control, labor management, sales performance, and safety compliance.

Whataburger provides competitive weekly pay and flexible scheduling options, including day, night, evening, and overnight shifts. Employees enjoy numerous benefits such as paid time off, a 401(k) match, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability benefits. The company also invests strongly in career development, offering educational support through free English-learning courses, college-level classes, and reduced-tuition degree pathways. Additional perks include discounts on meals, wireless services, software, and gym memberships, plus awards and recognition programs and retirement celebration events. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow in a leadership capacity within a vibrant, supportive company with a long-standing reputation for success and community involvement.
