With a rich heritage and strong community ties, Whataburger has grown into a respected brand that serves millions of customers every year. Whataburger focuses on investing in its people by fostering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment. The company culture emphasizes bold leadership, teamwork, integrity, and delivering great experiences through collaboration and passion. At Whataburger, employees are treated like family members, and there is a clear pathway for career development, including opportunities for advancement into leadership roles with competitive salaries. Employee education is also valued highly, providing numerous resources such as scholarships, no-cost college-level courses, and language learning programs.

The Shift Leader position at Whataburger is an exciting leadership opportunity for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Shift Leader, you play a crucial role in driving operational excellence by ensuring that every aspect of the restaurant functions smoothly during your shift. You will lead and motivate team members, referred to as Family Members, helping them refine their skills and build confidence to create an outstanding customer experience. This role requires you to coach new hires so they can quickly adapt and help seasoned team members maintain high standards.

Your responsibilities include managing shift operations to meet quality, service, and cleanliness benchmarks while supporting business goals related to food cost, labor cost, and sales performance. You will uphold strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations, acting as a role model for your team. Teamwork and communication are vital in fostering a positive work culture where everyone feels valued and accountable. From preparing and leading shifts to managing transitions smoothly, you will be the driving force keeping the restaurant running efficiently. Working closely with Restaurant Managers, you will sharpen your leadership capabilities and contribute to building a strong management foundation within the organization.

The position offers competitive weekly pay and flexible scheduling options, accommodating a variety of shifts including day, night, evening, and overnight hours. Benefits include paid time off, a 401(k) match, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, disability coverage, and various discounts on meals, wireless services, software, and fitness memberships. Whataburger also supports employees with scholarship programs, hardship grants, and education assistance to help them advance their careers and personal development.

Joining Whataburger means becoming part of a company that values bold leadership, integrity, and fun. If you are ready to grow your leadership skills, inspire others, and make a meaningful impact in a collaborative team environment, the Shift Leader role could be your next great opportunity.
