As a Shift Leader at Whataburger, you play a vital role in keeping restaurant operations running smoothly and efficiently during your shift. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the team, ensuring that service quality, food safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met. This role requires strong leadership capabilities as you will coach, train, and support Family Members to help them develop their skills and confidence, ensuring a positive work atmosphere. Working closely with the Restaurant Manager team, you will support various operational goals including food and labor costs management, sales targets, and inventory controls.
This position offers competitive weekly pay, flexible schedules with day, night, evening, and overnight shifts available, and paid time off. Whataburger also provides comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, along with short-term and long-term disability coverage. Additionally, the company offers 401(k) matching up to 4 percent and extensive education support, including free English-language learning programs, tuition reductions for college-level courses, and scholarship opportunities through the Whataburger Family Foundation. Employees enjoy meal discounts for themselves and guests, wireless service discounts, computer and software offers, gym memberships, and recognition programs that celebrate and reward their contributions. There is a clear path for career advancement with the opportunity to grow into an Operating Partner earning a six-figure income.
As a Shift Leader, you will be based in your home restaurant but may also lend support to neighboring locations or the wider market. You will participate in leadership meetings, training sessions, and development opportunities that keep you connected to the broader organization and help you enhance your leadership skills. This role demands someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities efficiently, and maintain a positive and collaborative team dynamic. The successful candidate will share the company values of serving with heart, leading with integrity, and winning as one cohesive team.
