Job Description

Whataburger is a well-established American fast-food restaurant chain known for its freshly made-to-order burgers and exceptional customer service since 1950. The company has built a strong reputation across the southern United States for serving quality food with a distinctive Texas twist, embracing values like integrity, teamwork, and community involvement. Whataburger operates numerous locations featuring a welcoming work environment that emphasizes growth opportunities and supportive culture. It is committed to investing in its people by providing an array of benefits including educational support, scholarship programs, and comprehensive health plans. This commitment extends to promoting a diverse and equitable workplace where every employee is valued and has the chance to thrive.

The role of Shift Leader at Whataburger stands at the heart of the company’s operations, acting as the catalyst that ensures each restaurant shift runs smoothly and efficiently. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for guiding and motivating restaurant team members, often referred to as Family Members, helping them enhance their skills and build confidence through effective coaching. This leadership position focuses heavily on maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, cleanliness, and excellent customer service, while managing the day-to-day operational challenges that arise during shifts.

Your leadership will directly impact the success of the restaurant by driving operational excellence, supporting goals related to food and labor costs, sales performance, and ensuring proper inventory management. The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work culture, encouraging teamwork, communication, and accountability among team members. You will also partner closely with the Restaurant Manager to develop your leadership capabilities and prepare for potential career advancement within the company. Whataburger offers competitive weekly pay, flexible scheduling options including day, night, evening, and overnight shifts, along with paid time off and a robust benefits package that supports both your professional and personal growth.

Working at Whataburger means joining a family-oriented company that not only serves bold and delicious burgers but also invests deeply in its people. Whether you aspire to grow into a store manager or beyond, Whataburger provides a clear career path with opportunities to earn competitive incomes, including six-figure potential for Operating Partners. Additional benefits include scholarship programs for employees’ dependents, free language learning courses, college-level classes with reduced tuition options, and exclusive discounts on meals, wireless services, and gym memberships. If you are passionate about leading teams, delivering outstanding customer experiences, and advancing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment, the Shift Leader role at Whataburger is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact and move forward boldly.
