The position of Shift Leader at Whataburger is a critical leadership role key to ensuring the smooth operation of restaurant shifts while maintaining high standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and safety. As a Shift Leader, you act as the spark that invigorates your team, driving operational excellence alongside the Restaurant Manager. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience
  • Able to meet business needs with open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, and variable hours
  • Maintain dependable attendance
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours and lift up to 55 lbs
  • Experience coaching or leading teams
  • Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Possess or obtain ServSafe Food Certification
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols

Job Duties

  • Support restaurant goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and inventory processes
  • Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements
  • Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture
  • Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations effectively
  • Assist neighboring locations or market as needed to support leadership efforts
