Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced work environment
  • Experience recognizing valid IDs
  • Cash handling experience
  • Beer, wine & liquor knowledge, current with latest drink trends
  • Point of Sales knowledge, preferably MICROS
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent

Job Duties

  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area during shift
  • Follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards
  • Assist other employees as needed
  • Follow opening, running, and closing procedures, checking out with manager on duty
  • Adhere to all HOB policies and procedures
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and HOB alcohol policies
  • Request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age
  • Recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager
  • Cash handling
  • bank procedures (cash pull/check out) and payment processing (on point of sales terminal) for both cash and/or credit transactions
  • Required to occasionally work special events scheduled within the venue
  • Have knowledge of all menu items, music, promotional or special events in the house
  • Inform guests of daily specials and make recommendations to suggestively sell menu
  • Provide exceptional guest service by anticipating guest needs, answering guest questions taking guest orders, ensuring items are correct, delivering items timely and appropriately resolving any guest complaints
  • Pre-bus tables: remove dirty plates, glasses, etc., from table once guest has finished
