At the Appleton Airport location, SSP America is currently hiring Servers who play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring guests enjoy their dining experience. This is an hourly position offering $4.00 per hour plus tips, with servers typically earning an average of $25 per hour. As a Server at SSP America within Fratellos, you will engage directly with guests, providing friendly and attentive service. Servers are expected to have warm, welcoming smiles and a positive attitude to delight guests throughout their visit. Making thoughtful recommendations based on guests' preferences is a key part of the role, along with answering questions about menu items and services. You will accurately input orders into the POS system and prepare certain dishes, such as ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting desserts, and brewing coffee.

Working as a Server in an airport restaurant requires excellent situational awareness. Observing guests to anticipate their needs and respond promptly to requests is essential for maintaining high customer satisfaction. Servers also handle clearing and resetting tables, balancing checks, processing payments, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of the dining area throughout service. Other general duties may be assigned to support smooth restaurant operations.

Job Requirements

  • Six months experience serving in food service environment
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Verbal and written communication in English is essential
  • Experience in dealing with problems involving customer service
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops
  • Food handlers permit, as required by law
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time

Job Duties

  • Answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food, beverages, and services of the facility
  • Accurately input orders into the POS system
  • Prepare dishes for service, to include ladling soup, tossing salads, cutting portions of pie and desserts, and brewing coffee
  • Observe guests to anticipate their needs and respond to any additional requests
  • Clear all dishes away from table
  • Balance and reconcile all assigned open and closed checks by totaling bills and accepting payments
  • Clear and reset all counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
  • Other duties as assigned
