Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of food and beverage experience preferred
  • food safety certification as required by law
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • punctuality and reliable attendance
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • One year of prior food and beverage experience preferred
  • prior guest relations training
  • knowledge of proper food handling
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through
  • ability to work cooperatively and with minimum supervision
  • punctuality and reliable attendance
  • proper food safety training and certification as required by law
  • experience with computers including MS Office and Google
  • familiarity with POS systems such as Micros and Aloha
  • experience using reservation software like Open Table
  • ability to perform various physical movements safely such as reaching, bending, and stooping
  • ability to push and pull vacuum cleaners and carts up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Greet all customers warmly
  • adhere to grooming and appearance standards
  • prepare dining tables for service by laying out napkins and utensils and refilling condiments
  • take guest food and beverage orders accurately
  • maintain knowledge of current menu choices and specials
  • manage table assignments and seating customers
  • suggest food and drinks
  • communicate customer needs to the kitchen
  • ensure a memorable dining experience
  • properly open and pour wine tableside
  • accurately record revenue and accept payments including cash, credit card, and room charges
  • perform basic cleaning tasks as directed
  • assist with special events
  • answer telephone with proper etiquette
  • develop positive relationships with coworkers
  • bus tables and assist with dirty dishes
  • assist kitchen with prep work or plating as needed
  • clean front of the house areas including windows and entrances
  • fill water bottles and roll silverware
  • perform duties assigned by management
