Job Description
SSP America is a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in key travel locations, including airports, train stations, and motorway service areas throughout the United States. This role is for a full-time Server position with competitive hourly pay starting at $12.55 plus tips, averaging between $22 and $24 per hour. As a Server within any of SSP America's airport restaurants, you would be joining a team dedicated to delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The Server’s primary responsibilities include processing customer orders accurately using the POS system, handling payments and change with precision, and serving a wide array of cold, frozen, and hot drink and food offerings. The role demands attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness of work areas, proper sanitation of equipment and utensils, and timely transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work zones. Furthermore, you will assist with general housekeeping duties such as removing trash, sweeping, mopping, and dusting to keep the dining and work areas safe and pleasant for guests and staff.
Ideal candidates are at least 21 years old and possess basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation as well as alcohol service regulations. Strong verbal and written English communication skills are essential for interacting with guests and accurately recording orders. The role requires basic mathematical abilities for cash register operation, making change, totaling checks, and handling financial transactions with exactness. Familiarity with brand certification processes and proficiency in point of sale keyboard operations are necessary to efficiently manage orders and close out checks. Candidates should also be comfortable standing and working in confined spaces for extended periods of time, as this is a physical, active role.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years old
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
- Verbal and written English language skills
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with guests and take orders
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand weights and measurements
- Brand certification as required
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and order and close out a check
- Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time
