The role of the General Manager at Church's Restaurant is vital to maintaining the high standards and operational excellence the brand is known for. As a General Manager, you will be directly responsible for overseeing all day-to-day business activities at a single restaurant location. This includes driving sales targets, managing expenses within budget constraints, and ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience characterized by quick, accurate, and friendly service. The General Manager plays a critical leadership role by creating an environment where team members feel motivated, engaged, and encouraged to develop their skills while consistently delivering exceptional service.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can manage a team typically including an Assistant Restaurant General Manager and/or Shift Leaders. The size of the team and management structure may vary depending on the restaurant’s overall sales volume and geographic location. This person must be skilled at fostering a positive workplace culture that rewards high performance, encourages professional growth, and maintains operational compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The General Manager also oversees critical aspects such as inventory management, routine equipment maintenance, employee training, and customer feedback resolution.

In addition to protecting the brand’s reputation, the General Manager is accountable for budget management and operational reporting to ensure the restaurant remains profitable and efficient. They are expected to uphold and enforce all company policies and create a safe, clean, and compliant environment for both guests and staff. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • one year of supervisory experience in the restaurant industry
  • successful completion of all training and passing applicable tests
  • valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance
  • ability to work minimum 50 - 55 hours per week
  • availability to work flexible shifts including weekends

Job Duties

  • Creates an in store service environment that exceeds guest expectations with regards to friendly, quick, and accurate service
  • builds team understanding and commitment to guest service standards
  • communicates and follows-up with guests to obtain feedback and identify service and food quality improvement opportunities
  • assists and resolves all guest complaints in-person or by phone using the listen, apologize, satisfy and thank model
  • ensures all incoming calls are handled in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner
  • directs and conducts regular training with team members
  • provides regular feedback to all team members and identifies areas for improvement
  • works with direct reports to cross-train and assist in the development of new skills
  • creates a workplace where team members strive to do their best, are rewarded for performance, and have fun
  • ensures that federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances are practiced and enforced
  • maintains a clean and safe restaurant for guests and team members
