Job Description

Hillstone Restaurant Group is a prestigious and privately-held collection of upscale dining establishments, boasting more than 45 locations across vibrant cities in the United States. Known for its commitment to excellence, Hillstone operates an impressive portfolio of well-regarded restaurants, including Houston's, Hillstone, R&D Kitchen, Bandera, East Hampton Grill, South Beverly Grill, Honor Bar, Palm Beach Grill, and White House Tavern. The group is recognized for providing high-quality food and exceptional service, contributing to its respected reputation in the hospitality industry. This variety of locations offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment for those passionate about the restaurant business, especially in the segments of management and culinary arts. For more insight into the company and its culture, interested candidates can visit www.hillstone.com or read its feature in Bon Appetit magazine, which highlights the brand’s philosophy and operations.

The Hillstone Summer 2026 Internship is specifically designed for rising seniors who have a serious interest in exploring careers in restaurant management or culinary management. This comprehensive internship offers a deep dive into the restaurant business, covering the full spectrum of daily operations with a particular emphasis on service and operational excellence. Interns gain hands-on experience by apprenticing in staff-level roles, where they learn the critical responsibilities and skills required to succeed on the front lines of restaurant service. Beyond the operational level, the internship also provides opportunities to understand and engage in management-level functions. This may include participating in hiring processes, conducting training and coaching of staff, managing inventory, and reviewing profit and loss (P&L) statements to grasp the financial aspects of running a successful restaurant. The program is tailored to provide a holistic learning experience that prepares participants for future leadership roles within the restaurant industry.

Intern placements will be determined based on the best fit with the operating team and will be assigned to one of the restaurants across the country, with a strong preference for locations in East Hampton, NY, and Aspen, CO. While prior experience in the restaurant industry is helpful, it is not a requirement, making this internship accessible to motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the field. Compensation for the internship varies by location but typically ranges from $1,000 to $2,000 per week, reflecting Hillstone’s investment in developing new talent. With 40 properties nationwide, relocation may be necessary depending on the placement, underscoring the importance of flexibility and adaptability for candidates. Hillstone maintains a commitment to diversity and inclusion, with all applicant information handled confidentially following Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines. The company also participates in E-Verify to confirm each employee’s identity and authorization to work, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
