The Restaurant Manager role at Vines Grille and Wine Bar is integral to maintaining and enhancing the establishment's reputation for excellence. This position involves comprehensive management responsibilities covering the full-service dining room, bar, lounge, host stand, live entertainment, and private dining segments. The manager is tasked with leading, coaching, and inspiring a capable front-of-house team to deliver exceptional service aligned with the restaurant's mission and standards.

The manager ensures efficient daily operations by overseeing service quality, managing team schedules, monitoring inventory and labor costs, and enforcing policies and procedures. The role demands strong leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills to support and motivate staff effectively. It also includes a commitment to safety, sanitation, and compliance with employment laws.

Job Requirements

  • Must represent Vines mission, vision and values
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum of 3 years managing a high-volume or upscale restaurant
  • Experience leading a team of 30 to 50 employees
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of working 50-55 hours per week
  • Comfortable working in conditions involving wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-years’ experience managing high-volume and/or upscale restaurant environment, preferred

  • Upscale or fine dining environment and/or business management degree is preferred
  • A passion for cooking, teaching and developing talent
  • Hard-working and a team player
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers and team members

Job Duties

  • Oversees daily operations and ensures outstanding services within our dining room, bar, lounge and host stand areas
  • Leads the restaurant team to execute Vines policies and procedures
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, coaches and inspires all front of house team members
  • Orchestrates and schedules restaurant team members as needed throughout all shifts
  • Coaches a team-based service approach throughout the restaurant
  • Organizes and maintains timely paperwork for all hired employees and applicants in accordance to employment laws
  • Trains front of house team members to increase knowledge about safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles
