Job Description

Cambridge Street Hospitality Group (CSHG) is a prominent collective within the Cambridge culinary landscape, consisting of eight distinct hospitality concepts. Founded and led by the renowned Chef and owner Will Gilson, CSHG prides itself on delivering an exceptional blend of culinary and beverage expertise that provides guests a remarkable dining experience. Since its inception in 2012, the group has cultivated a reputation for offering high-quality, thoughtfully prepared food, an eclectic selection of local beers, and a globally sourced wine list that delights patrons. The atmosphere across their venues ranges from lively and spacious to warm and welcoming, fostering a sense of comfort and connection among guests and their friends. CSHG’s dedication to excellence and community engagement sets it apart in the competitive hospitality industry.

Located in the bustling area of Cambridge Crossing, the company's flagship property houses three distinguished restaurants under one architecturally stunning roof: The Lexington Bar + Restaurant, Geppetto, and Café Beatrice. Each establishment presents a unique ambiance, menu, and overall dining experience. The Lexington Bar + Restaurant, positioned on the upper floor, is notable for its 17-seat bar and one of Cambridge’s rare rooftop decks. It features an elevated take on American bar food paired with innovative drinks, making it a popular spot for casual outings, full dinners, and business meetings alike. Geppetto, recognized as one of the hottest restaurant openings of 2021 by Eater, celebrates Northern Italian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients from New England’s farms, fisheries, and beyond. This venue offers housemade pastas, local seafood, prime meats, and exquisite desserts from an in-house pastry team, all served in a modern yet cozy setting.

The role of Restaurant Manager is pivotal in sustaining the high standards and smooth operations synonymous with CSHG’s brand. As the primary leader of the front of house (FOH) team at The Lexington, Geppetto, and Café Beatrice, the Restaurant Manager ensures an outstanding service experience that aligns with the company’s cultural and hospitality values. This full-time role involves overseeing daily service periods, handling financial responsibilities related to revenues and cash management, and fostering a positive, professional environment for staff and guests. The role offers a comprehensive blend of operational and personnel management duties, including scheduling, hiring, training, and mentoring FOH employees such as servers, bartenders, baristas, and hosts.

The successful candidate will act as a brand ambassador and an integral part of the management team, collaborating closely with kitchen leadership and beverage specialists to maintain seamless communication and deliver cohesive dining experiences. A strategic and service-focused approach is essential, with responsibilities extending to problem-solving guest satisfaction issues and proactively addressing operational challenges. Over a 90-day phased onboarding period, the Restaurant Manager will gain an in-depth understanding of the restaurants’ dynamics and develop sophisticated skill sets in guest relations, product knowledge, and team leadership.

This position offers a competitive base salary of $65,000 per year, along with subsidized medical and dental insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and dining discounts. CSHG supports ongoing professional growth by setting clear goals and providing candid feedback, making this role an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in upscale restaurant management within a dynamic and supportive environment. The work schedule requires flexibility to accommodate nights, weekends, and select holidays, reflecting the natural ebb and flow of the hospitality industry.
