Job Description

BelAir Cantina is a well-established and beloved restaurant located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, known for its flavorful and innovative take on traditional Mexican cuisine. This local staple brings together authentic recipes with a unique blend of flavors and cooking techniques crafted by Chef Noe. The result is a menu filled with fresh, high-quality ingredients that offer guests a vibrant and engaging dining experience. The atmosphere at BelAir Cantina balances a laid-back vibe with energetic undertones making it a perfect destination for friends and families to gather and enjoy great food and drinks, including their renowned tacos and mouthwatering margaritas.

As a Restaurant Manager at BelAir Cantina, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the restaurant's high standards and ensuring smooth daily operations. The position is full-time with a schedule that requires a minimum of 45 hours per week and offers flexibility to accommodate life outside of work. This role is hands-on and requires in-person presence throughout your shifts, along with occasional travel to other company locations. Managers are responsible for leading, motivating, and managing the restaurant team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain operational excellence. Critical responsibilities include conducting weekly manager meetings to review performance, handling a variety of operational challenges, and supporting team members in fulfilling their job roles effectively.

BelAir Cantina places strong emphasis on leadership qualities such as initiative, discipline, organization, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and cultivate a positive team environment. Appearance, politeness, and a pleasant manner are essential traits, as is the ability to meet physical demands like standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working up to 60 hours per week when necessary. Educationally, while a college degree is preferred, it is not mandatory; however, candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of prior management experience. Furthermore, managers need to possess relevant certifications such as a State of Wisconsin Food Manager Certificate (ServSafe preferred) and local bartender or manager licenses.

In return, BelAir Cantina offers an attractive benefits package, which includes a Team Member Meal Benefit Program with substantial discounts, 401K with company match, and eligibility for healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision) within the first 30 days of employment. Their perk offerings also extend to a $25,000 free life insurance policy, lifetime enrollment in a discount platform called Perkspot, and paid time off with three weeks guaranteed. There is also company-paid certification reimbursement for ServSafe Manager Food Safety, bartender license, CPR/First Aid/AED and Narcan certifications. The culture at BelAir Cantina is centered on team member enrichment and creating a supportive work environment. With flexibility in scheduling and a guaranteed five-day workweek with two days off, the company respects employees’ work-life balance. This role is ideal for an energetic, organized individual eager to lead a dynamic team within a popular and growing restaurant known for its authenticity and innovation.
