Job Description

Outback Steakhouse is a renowned casual dining restaurant celebrated for its Australian-themed menu, vibrant atmosphere, and commitment to exceptional customer service. As part of the Bloomin' Brands family, Outback Steakhouse is dedicated to creating a workplace where team members, affectionately called Outbackers, can thrive both personally and professionally. The company prioritizes fostering an environment that is fun, inclusive, and values every individual’s unique personality and contributions. With a strong emphasis on quality food, superior service standards, and a welcoming atmosphere, Outback Steakhouse consistently delivers an AUSS-SOME dining experience to guests across the nation.

This Manager role at Outback Steakhouse is a dynamic leadership position pivotal to the smooth and successful operation of the restaurant's front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) functions. The Manager will oversee daily restaurant operations with limited supervision, ensuring that every aspect—from the restaurant’s appearance and food presentation to the overall guest experience—meets the brand’s high standards. This position demands professional leadership and the ability to provide clear direction and motivation to team members. Duties include managing staffing levels through scheduling, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring efforts, while always maintaining rigorous employment quality standards consistent with Outback Steakhouse’s brand values.

A key responsibility of the Manager is to actively participate in the career growth of hourly team members by providing mentorship and development opportunities, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and upward mobility. They will also be in charge of implementing effective security protocols to guarantee the ongoing safety of employees and guests alike. Compliance with operational, safety, and sanitation standards is paramount, including adherence to all company policies, federal, state, and local laws, and maintaining health inspections that meet or exceed required state standards.

In addition to these operational duties, the Manager must cultivate a service environment that promotes guest satisfaction and builds loyalty by responding to guest feedback promptly and setting an exemplary standard for service throughout the restaurant. They are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of the menu and preparation standards to assist the team and ensure consistency in the food quality and presentation. Moreover, engaging with the local community and market-related opportunities plays a crucial role in promoting the restaurant and fostering a connection with guests and neighbors.

Outback Steakhouse values flexibility and adaptability, so the Manager should be willing to work a flexible schedule and be open to relocation within the assigned region if necessary. The compensation for this role varies by location and includes the potential for bonuses based on eligibility and other business factors. Bloomin' Brands offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k plans, supporting the well-being and future financial security of its employees.

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry, eager to lead by example, and looking to join a company that prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer. Outback Steakhouse is committed to diversity and inclusion and ensures all candidates receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic.
