The role of Restaurant Manager at MBK Senior Living is a full-time position scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm. In this essential leadership role, the Restaurant Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing the entire restaurant operation within a senior living community. This includes managing daily functions such as seating residents, assigning wait staff, ensuring high-quality beverage service, and maintaining dress code standards. The Restaurant Manager also plays a critical role in collaborating with the Executive Chef on menu planning and presentation, monitoring service quality, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Beyond daily operations, the Restaurant Manager leads recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of the host and server teams. They are tasked with managing departmental staffing needs, budgeting, and financial oversight. The position requires active mentorship and team leadership, encouraging recognition through programs like INSPIRE and leadership awards. The role also involves planning and coordinating special events, monitoring cleanliness, reporting safety issues, and implementing emergency plans. The Restaurant Manager serves as a coach and mentor, fostering a positive team dynamic and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
This position requires excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and knowledge of business principles related to strategic planning and resource coordination. Job Duties
- Recruit, interview, hire, and train hosts and servers
- direct hosts and servers in daily operation and cleaning of restaurant and server areas
- determine departmental staffing needs
- manage monthly operating budget and participate in annual budget development
- partner with Executive Chef on menu development, presentation, and meal delivery monitoring
- communicate policies and mentor team members
- ensure cleanliness and suitability of restaurant for meal service
- promptly report and address unsafe conditions or equipment problems
- ensure each resident's meal is accounted for
- delegate service tasks to servers
- recognize departmental needs and report concerns to management
- assist in preparing meals for special events
- properly store food and supplies
- use cleaners and hazardous materials safely
- promote team member recognition programs
- attend training and team meetings
- implement emergency plans and participate in regular safety drills
