Job Description
This job posting is for a Restaurant Manager position at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee of Jack in the Box. It is important to note that the independent franchisee, not Jack in the Box Inc., will be your direct employer if hired. The franchisee is fully responsible for all employment-related matters within the restaurant, including hiring, firing, wages, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. This establishes a unique working environment where managers have direct contact with the franchisee's leadership and operational guidelines rather than the corporate office.
The restaurant is part of the well-known Jack in the Box fast-food chain, which specializes in providing quick, tasty meals with an emphasis on quality food, excellent service, and a clean, safe environment. The establishment prides itself on consistently delivering a high level of guest satisfaction through an engaging customer experience.
The Restaurant Manager role is a full-time, hands-on leadership position with an hourly wage range of $22 to $27. There is also bonus potential of up to $8,000 annually, making this position financially rewarding for high performers. Employees receive several benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K retirement plan for eligible participants, and paid holidays including Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, and July 4th. Additionally, managers enjoy a 100 percent employee meal discount up to $10 during their shifts, promoting a positive workplace culture.
As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the restaurant's operations. Your primary focus will be training and leading the restaurant staff to consistently deliver a "WOW" guest experience. This includes ensuring every guest receives quality food, friendly and professional service, and experiences a clean and hospitable environment. You will build restaurant sales and profits by overseeing team performance and ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
The role demands a passion for customer service and a visible leadership presence, consistently engaging guests and setting an example for the staff. You will model a "guest comes first" attitude that embraces friendliness, respect, and genuine care. Managing order accuracy, timeliness, and quality will be crucial, alongside prompt and professional resolution of guest concerns and complaints.
In addition to guest interaction, you will foster an inclusive team environment that is friendly, fun, safe, and respects all employees. Your leadership will motivate and inspire the team to achieve high performance levels, recognize achievements, and create a positive workplace culture. Effective communication, active listening, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential to managing team and business challenges.
Recruitment, selection, training, development, and evaluation of all restaurant employees fall under your jurisdiction. You will ensure adequate staffing, proper scheduling, and ongoing training on operational workstations. Recognizing and developing internal candidates for leadership roles such as Team Leader and Assistant Manager is a critical part of the role, fostering employee growth and succession planning.
Maintaining impeccable cleanliness standards inside and outside the restaurant in accordance with Jack in the Box procedures is another key responsibility. Utilizing management information tools to analyze operational and financial performance, you will focus efforts on increasing sales and profitability while monitoring costs to adhere to budget targets and restaurant goals.
This position requires a commitment of at least 45 hours per week with flexibility to work any day and time, especially during the busiest periods including weekends and holidays. The Restaurant Manager role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals who thrive in a dynamic fast-food environment and are passionate about customer satisfaction and team leadership.
