The Front of House Manager role at PJWRG is critical to the day-to-day success of their restaurant operations. This leadership position supports the General Manager in overseeing various facets of the restaurant environment including sales, labor management, food cost control, employee hiring and retention, guest service, food quality, and sanitation standards. The manager ensures that the restaurant not only meets but exceeds company goals related to service excellence, operational efficiency, and a positive guest experience. The position involves direct interaction with staff and guests, requiring a hands-on approach to leadership and a keen eye for maintaining high standards consistently. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager or General Manager, this role is a vital part of the management team and contributes significantly to the restaurant’s reputation and success. With a competitive annual salary range of $56,000 to $60,000, PJWRG offers both financial reward and career advancement opportunities.

Front of House Managers at PJWRG are expected to be present during operations to support servers and host staff, ensure guests receive responsive and courteous service, and verify adherence to company standards. Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant concept
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to lead and make decisions using restaurant management guidelines
  • Ability to analyze P&L statements and work within a budget
  • A friendly, approachable attitude and ability to communicate effectively to employees, management and guests
  • Have a can-do attitude, initiative, and the willingness to learn and execute quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Possess basic computer skills and the ability to work with a scheduling, time and attendance and POS system

Job Duties

  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times
  • Be present and supportive for servers and hostess staff and check-in with guests to validate service consistently meets standards
  • Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures
  • Partner with the General Manager in making employment and termination decisions
  • Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations in Front or Back of the House
  • Continually strive to develop staff in all areas of service, food presentation, safety and sanitation
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback and coaching to employees regarding their performance
  • Assist General Manager to develop, plan and carry out restaurant marketing, advertising and promotional activities and campaigns
  • Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures
  • Schedule servers and hostesses as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests
