Job Description

The position is for a Restaurant Manager role at a Del Taco restaurant operated by an independent franchisee, not Del Taco LLC. This independent franchise owner is responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. Del Taco is a well-established QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) brand known for its unique menu and commitment to quality and customer service. As a franchise location, the restaurant embodies the Del Taco brand standards and service philosophy to deliver a consistent guest experience.

Del Taco restaurants are recognized for offering a compelling blend of Mexican and American inspired menu items with a focus on fresh ingredients and customer satisfaction. The position is located in Clovis, California at 1415 Herndon Ave, and the restaurant serves customers looking for quick, delicious food with friendly service. The franchisee prides itself on delivering a positive team culture with fun and motivation, aiming to not just meet but exceed sales and service expectations.

As a Restaurant Manager, the individual reports to the Area Director and plays a critical leadership role by protecting and delivering the Del Taco brand. The Manager is responsible for growing sales, maximizing efficiency, and maintaining profitability while leading by example through the "Del Taco Way". This role demands strong leadership skills to fully staff and develop quality employees who embody the service-oriented culture.

Key aspects of the role include recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees; ensuring all team members are properly trained and certified; creating an environment of teamwork and fun; and managing the performance and development of the staff. The manager must enforce operational standards for food quality, facility maintenance, equipment safety, and overall customer experience. They are also responsible for adhering to brand standards, cleaning schedules, and uniform policies to ensure the restaurant represents the Del Taco brand in an excellent manner.

Another core component is the focus on sales growth and customer loyalty, requiring the manager to communicate and execute sales goals, optimize staffing levels according to sales projections, and implement local marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers. Maintaining awareness of the competitive landscape and local events is also important to effectively position the restaurant in its trade area.

Furthermore, the manager must manage costs to achieve or exceed profitability plans through labor law compliance, inventory management, cash handling procedures, and controlling repair, maintenance, and service vendor expenses. Safety and health standards are paramount alongside accurate cash auditing and issue resolution.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years of experience in the fast food or full-service restaurant industry, ServSafe certification, and excellent communication and organizational skills. They must be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision, have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and demonstrate proven leadership in motivating diverse teams and fostering growth.
