The role of the Restaurant Manager is pivotal in overseeing daily kitchen and restaurant operations, focusing primarily on the Heart of House activities. As the leader of the Heart of House team, you will be instrumental in guiding, developing, and inspiring staff members to uphold our quality standards, operating procedures, and cultural values. Your leadership will directly influence the efficiency, cleanliness, and overall performance of the kitchen operations, ensuring that food quality meets or exceeds our expectations and that sanitation standards are rigorously maintained.

This full-time position requires a proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. You will be responsible for teaching and coaching hourly staff on service, food, and beverage standards while providing timely feedback and corrective actions when necessary. A key part of your job includes overseeing line checks and production to maintain our operational protocols and standard recipes. Additionally, you will mentor the Heart of House staff to support career growth and help build a robust talent pipeline within the organization.

Financial acumen is a crucial component of this role, as you will manage the restaurant’s business plans and goals through effective financial management techniques. Ensuring that the team is fully trained, well-prepared, and efficient in daily operations forms part of your mandate. You will also be responsible for maintaining all operational documentation, including recipe and specification books and training materials, to ensure up-to-date compliance.

Beyond staff and operational management, your role extends to overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the restaurant facility, including equipment, furniture, and fixtures. Cleanliness, repair, and regular maintenance schedules are essential to sustaining an optimal working and dining environment.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as RM in a similar restaurant concept
  • Demonstrated track record of strong leadership and ability to lead high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve positive financial results
  • Is genuinely hospitable, warm, sensitive, and polite to our guests
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, communication skills
  • Excellent problem resolution and guest recovery skills

Job Duties

  • Teach and coach hourly team on maintaining our standards for service, food and beverage
  • Actively monitor food quality to ensure adherence with our standards
  • Provide timely feedback to hourly staff, and lead action to correct any issues
  • Oversee the heart of the house on your shifts and ensure it is operating efficiently while maintaining food quality and sanitation standards
  • Ensure line checks and production are both completed in compliance with our systems and standards
  • Mentor and develop the HOH hourly staff to support the organization's talent pipeline and drive growth
  • Achieve business plan and goals through effective financial management
  • Maintain fully and properly trained staff to operate restaurant effectively
  • Ensure that all operations, recipe, specifications books, and training materials are current and maintained
  • Ensure building, equipment, furniture, and fixtures are in good repair, clean, and maintained on a regular basis
