The company is deeply mission-driven, focusing on nourishing humanity and the world through exceptional products and services that promote a soul-satisfying, deeply nourishing lifestyle. Known for its signature Yumm! Bowls and original Yumm! Sauce, Cafe Yumm also provides a growing retail grocery business featuring fan-favorite items such as the Jalapeño Sesame Salsa. This expanding business model, combined with strong commitments to sustainability and social responsibility, positions Cafe Yumm as a leader in the fast-casual dining scene.
The company’s values of integrity, enthusiasm, gratitude, and respect are strongly embedded in its culture, creating an environment that values its team members and supports long-term growth. Cafe Yumm operates with a triple bottom line approach, considering social, environmental, and economic impacts in its decision-making. Employee well-being and development are prioritized, offering a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional advancement. Cafe Yumm is also fully compliant with federal and state disability laws and committed to providing reasonable accommodations to support an inclusive workforce.
The role of Restaurant Manager at Cafe Yumm’s Eugene/Springfield area locations offers a full-time, salaried position with a competitive starting wage of $60,871 annually. This critical leadership role requires managing all aspects of restaurant operations, from maintaining safety and service standards to overseeing food preparation and presentation. The Restaurant Manager is entrusted with ensuring a smooth and profitable operation by supporting and developing a motivated team, driving sales, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest service.
This role involves hands-on leadership in several operational domains, including managing employee schedules, ordering supplies, counting cash drawers, handling bank deposits, and directly recruiting, training, and mentoring team members. A strong emphasis is placed on fostering a positive work environment where all team members align with the mission statement and core values of Cafe Yumm. Managers are expected to be well-versed in multiple stations throughout the restaurant, enabling them to provide exceptional training and support for team members.
Candidates should be ready to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends, sometimes extending to 8-12 hour shifts or 7 days a week. The position demands excellent organizational skills, proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. Preferably, candidates possess an associate degree or some related experience in the restaurant industry, with at least three years of progressively responsible experience and a minimum of one year in a managerial or supervisory role. Certification such as a valid Oregon Food Handler's Permit and ServSafe Food Manager Certificate are necessary or should be attainable upon hire.
Cafe Yumm supports its employees comprehensively by providing perks such as free shift meals made from organic and ethically sourced ingredients, a 20% employee discount, company-paid sick leave, a robust employee assistance program, 401k plans with employer matching, and various health insurance options including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage. Paid time off starts at 20 days annually and increases with tenure, supplemented by 11 paid holidays per year. These benefits, combined with discretionary bonuses and store performance incentives, make this position attractive to individuals passionate about healthy lifestyles and leadership in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
