Job Description
This job posting is for a Restaurant Manager position at a Jack in the Box restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee. It is important to note that this opportunity is not with Jack in the Box Inc. directly, but rather with an independent franchisee who functions as the actual employer. This means the independent franchisee manages all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, wages, supervision, staffing, scheduling, and discipline within the restaurant. Jack in the Box is a well-known quick-service restaurant chain offering a diverse menu focused on quality food and efficient service, catering to a broad demographic seeking convenient dining experiences. This franchise is part of that larger network but operates with its own management and standards under the franchise agreement.
The Restaurant Manager role is a leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and striving to boost sales and profitability. The manager must consistently train and inspire the team to deliver a "WOW" guest experience by providing quality food and exceptional service. The position offers an hourly wage between $22 and $27 with potential bonuses up to $8,000 annually. Employees also receive paid holidays on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, and July 4th, along with access to medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a 401K plan for eligible employees. Additionally, staff enjoy a 100% employee meal discount of up to $10 during their shift.
The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about customer service and leads by example, maintaining visibility in the restaurant and interacting positively with guests. They should foster a positive team culture that values respect, integrity, and motivation, while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The manager must be adept at managing guest concerns promptly and professionally, coordinating staffing levels to meet operational needs efficiently, and using management information systems to assess restaurant performance.
This role requires a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills who is comfortable working a minimum of 45 hours per week, including weekends and holidays during peak business times. The Restaurant Manager must exhibit a strong commitment to employee development by recruiting, training, and mentoring staff for career advancement within the restaurant. Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and adherence to budgets is essential to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and profitably.
In summary, the Restaurant Manager position offers an exciting leadership opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced restaurant environment. The right individual will play a key role in shaping the guest experience, driving operational success, and supporting the growth and development of the restaurant team.
