Chotto Matte is a globally recognised Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant group, proudly operating internationally with locations in London, Toronto, Manchester, and San Francisco. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our opening team in San Francisco. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $90,000 annually. As the Restaurant Manager, you will have complete ownership of the restaurant operations and lead the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional guest service. This role demands leadership, energy, and commitment to maintaining the high standards that define Chotto Matte. You will oversee the smooth running of the restaurant from opening through to the late-night close at 1am, ensuring every service period runs efficiently and maintains the exemplary quality of service our guests expect.
In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and driving the guest experience while fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. You will work closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, supporting them in day-to-day operational management and contributing to the development of a high-performing team through targeted recruitment, training, and employee motivation strategies. Your efforts will directly impact the seamless coexistence of front and back of house operations, collaborating with the Head Chef to maximize efficiency and elevate overall service.
Working in a fast-paced, high-energy venue that attracts a diverse clientele, you must be adaptable and comfortable managing a team through the unique challenges of late-night service, maintaining high energy levels and consistent excellence throughout opening hours. Your role will also involve compliance oversight, ensuring all team members adhere to non-negotiable legal and safety requirements such as due diligence, licensing, health and safety protocols, fire safety, COSHH standards, allergens management, food safety, and manual handling. It is your responsibility to maintain and continuously improve the venue’s service standards through innovation, consistent coaching, and leadership, while also managing the venue atmosphere to ensure it remains vibrant and on point at all times.

Job Duties
- Support the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the venue
- Deliver a first-class guest experience for all guests
- Help build and train a high performing team around you through structured and quality recruitment
- Motivate, develop, and incentivise your team across all departments of the business
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to maximise efficiency between front and back of house during service
- Maintain awareness of competitors and hospitality trends and feed back to General Manager regularly
- Deliver and manage training needs of all team members as well as non-negotiable compliance such as due diligence, licensing, health and safety, fire, COSHH, allergens, food safety, and manual handling
- Maintain and improve service standards through training, coaching, innovation, and consistency
