Job Description

This job opportunity is offered by an independent franchisee of Del Taco, a prominent fast-food restaurant chain renowned for its Mexican-inspired cuisine. Unlike being directly employed by Del Taco LLC, successful candidates will be employed by this independent franchisee, which is responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, wages, and staffing. The role of Restaurant Manager is critical in driving the success of the location by leading the team according to the "Del Taco Way," a set of standards focusing on customer service, operational excellence, and teamwork. This position reports directly to the Area Director and involves extensive responsibilities centered around staff management, operational efficiency, compliance with standards, marketing, and profitability.

As a Restaurant Manager, your primary role is to manage and grow the restaurant’s sales while maintaining operational effectiveness. You will be tasked with fully staffing the restaurant with dedicated and trained employees, recruiting and retaining personnel, and ensuring that all team members meet the required certifications. You will cultivate a service-oriented culture surrounded by teamwork and fun, creating a positive work environment that motivates employees to deliver their best.

The position requires you to uphold Del Taco’s brand standards in every aspect of restaurant operations—from maintaining cleanliness and facility appearance to ensuring all equipment is operational and safety guidelines are met. You will supervise product quality, ensure uniform standards, manage customer experience consistently, and implement promotional signage and materials properly.

In addition to operational duties, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by setting and communicating sales goals, placing the right personnel in roles aligned with sales projections, and launching local marketing initiatives to boost customer counts. Understanding the local market and competition, and adeptly executing both speed and service standards, will be crucial to success.

Financial and administrative tasks form another key component of your role. Managing labor costs in accordance with actual sales, adhering to labor laws, controlling inventory to minimize waste and theft, and overseeing cash handling and auditing procedures are all necessary to achieve profitability targets. You will also coordinate vendor services and manage facility maintenance to minimize repair and supply expenses.

This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. The ability to work independently under pressure and motivate a diverse team is essential. Physical requirements include spending ample time on your feet, occasional lifting and bending, as well as traveling to various restaurant locations within the assigned region. A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance are mandatory due to travel needs.

Job Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years experience in QSR industry or full service concept
  • ServSafe certified
  • fluent in English
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • ability to drive and travel to restaurant locations including overnight travel
  • valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance

Job Duties

  • Fully staff the store with quality people
