Job Description

IHOP, a beloved restaurant chain with a storied history dating back to 1958, has become a favorite destination for breakfast enthusiasts across the country. Known for its iconic fluffy pancakes, savory omelets, and a diverse menu that caters to all ages and dietary preferences, IHOP is deeply committed to delivering high-quality food alongside exceptional customer service. As a staple in the breakfast dining scene, IHOP prides itself on a family-oriented culture that values growth and development. The company strongly believes in promoting from within and investing in comprehensive training programs to help employees reach their full potential, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

The role of Restaurant Manager at IHOP is an exciting full-time opportunity designed for a driven, humble, and smart individual eager to lead and build a dynamic team. This position is pivotal in overseeing all operational facets during scheduled shifts at the restaurant. The manager will make daily critical decisions, ensure that the restaurant maintains impeccable cleanliness and food quality, and support staff consistently to enhance both employee and guest experiences. A fundamental aspect of this role is to uphold company standards regarding uniforms, hygiene, and sanitation. The manager will be performing regular line checks during shifts to guarantee adherence to preparation specifications including weights, temperatures, and organization, thereby ensuring product quality remains consistently excellent.

In addition to daily operational responsibilities, the Restaurant Manager will drive human resources functions by interviewing, hiring, orienting, and training hourly employees to maintain a well-staffed unit optimized for operational efficiency. The role also involves preparing and analyzing reports such as Daily Sales Reports, Daily Cash Interims, and Labor Control documents to maintain control over company assets and operations. Inventory management including ordering food, uniforms, and other necessary supplies is another key responsibility, ensuring seamless restaurant functionality.

The manager will be a key player in identifying and addressing operational opportunities and challenges, executing plans intended to improve business performance. A commitment to the safety and security of employees and guests is paramount, and the manager holds the authority to approve food or beverage discounts. This role is vital in maintaining IHOP's reputation as a warm, welcoming place that consistently delivers smiles and satisfaction to its guests. Candidates willing to adapt to varying schedules based on restaurant needs and who possess an awareness of local events for optimal staffing will thrive in this position. Flexibility to work at various locations or relocate if necessary is expected, ensuring IHOP's continued success and high service standards.
