The Church's Restaurant General Manager plays a vital role within the Field Operations department. Reporting directly to the Market Leader, the General Manager is responsible for overseeing all business activities at a single restaurant location. This role is focused on delivering a superior and memorable dining experience to every guest, ensuring that service is friendly, quick, and accurate. The General Manager leads by example in creating an environment where team members feel motivated and equipped to perform their best. From achieving sales goals and managing expenses within budget to fostering team growth and service excellence, the General Manager’s responsibilities are extensive.
With a reporting structure that typically includes an Assistant Restaurant General Manager and/or Shift Leader, the General Manager ensures smooth operations and compliance with all health and safety regulations, labor laws, and company policies. The position requires hands-on leadership in training and development, customer relations, inventory management, and financial reporting. The General Manager is also tasked with handling guest feedback, resolving complaints proactively, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one year supervisory experience in the restaurant industry
- Successfully complete all required training and pass applicable tests
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance
- Ability to work 50-55 hours per week with flexible shifts including weekends
- Knowledge of restaurant policies and human resources procedures
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Capability to manage budgets and financial reports
- Experience in coaching and employee development
- Ability to maintain compliance with labor laws and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance
- Must be able to work a minimum of 50-55 hours per week and flexible shifts including weekends
- Knowledge of all restaurant policies, practices and operational and human resources procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of labor cost reporting, operating statements, and business-related reporting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with professional interaction abilities
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of profit and loss statements
- Ability to implement policies and procedures
- Skilled in employee development through coaching and counseling
- Strong commitment to improving customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of recruiting and interviewing potential team members

Job Duties
- Creates an in store service environment that exceeds guest expectations with friendly, quick, and accurate service
- Builds team understanding and commitment to guest service standards
- Communicates and follows-up with guests to obtain feedback and identify improvement opportunities
- Assists and resolves all guest complaints using the listen, apologize, satisfy and thank model
- Ensures all incoming calls are handled promptly, courteously, and professionally
- Directs and conducts regular training with team members
- Provides regular feedback and identifies areas for improvement
- Works with direct reports to cross-train and assist in developing new skills
- Creates a workplace where team members are motivated, rewarded and have fun
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Maintains a clean and safe restaurant environment
- Manages budgets and makes necessary adjustments
- Maintains restaurant inventory and ensures organization
- Responsible for routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
