Job Description
This job posting is for a position at a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee of Jack in the Box, a prominent and well-established fast-food restaurant chain known for its diverse menu, quality service, and commitment to customer satisfaction. The franchisee operates the restaurant independently of Jack in the Box Inc., which means that all employment-related matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling are managed directly by the independent franchisee. This structure provides a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment where local management decisions drive the operation and success of the restaurant.
The role of the Restaurant Manager is a leadership position that demands effective management of all aspects of the restaurant's operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and upholding the Jack in the Box Brand Promise. This involves managing internal service by recruiting, training, evaluating, and developing team members to ensure a motivated, capable, and customer-focused workforce. The manager will work closely with the restaurant team to maintain a fun, clean, safe, and employee-friendly environment, recognizing and rewarding high performance and adhering to labor laws and company policies.
Externally, the Restaurant Manager oversees daily operational activities to maintain high standards in guest service, food quality, and restaurant cleanliness. The manager will lead the team to deliver exceptional guest experiences, manage guest feedback professionally, and continuously improve operational practices. Sales and profitability are key focuses, with the manager using data analysis and management tools to track performance, identify trends, and implement strategies aimed at maximizing sales and controlling costs while protecting the brand's reputation.
This position requires strong skills in business management, employee motivation, conflict resolution, and operational excellence. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for those holding associate or bachelor's degrees. Experience requirements vary depending on internal promotion or external recruitment, with internal candidates needing at least one year of associate management experience or two years as a first assistant manager, and external candidates requiring a minimum of three years managing a similar service concept with full profit and loss responsibility.
Key qualifications include ServSafe certification, completion of Restaurant Manager training, and excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, lift heavy items, and operate vehicles and restaurant equipment. The Restaurant Manager must demonstrate leadership competencies such as composure under pressure, ethical behavior, effective communication, team building, and a strong drive for results.
Overall, this position offers a rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and leadership in the food service industry. By joining as a Restaurant Manager, candidates will be at the forefront of delivering a memorable dining experience while fostering a positive, productive work environment that supports team growth and operational success.
