With hundreds of stores across multiple states, Cracker Barrel has become a trusted destination for people seeking a welcoming atmosphere and a memorable dining and shopping experience. The company takes pride in its long-standing commitment to care — not just for its guests but also for its more than 70,000 team members nationwide. Cracker Barrel emphasizes creating an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow their careers. This ethos of hospitality extends beyond the customer-facing side and runs deep throughout every aspect of the company culture.
At Cracker Barrel, the Restaurant Associate Manager role is a vital leadership position that blends the passion for people with expert restaurant management skills. As a key figure in store operations, the Associate Manager is responsible for both front-of-house and back-of-house activities, ensuring that every guest enjoys exceptional service while the team functions smoothly and efficiently. The role offers a dynamic work environment where variety is celebrated, and every day presents new challenges and opportunities to make a positive impact. Associate Managers receive comprehensive support from the home office, available 24/7, providing all the resources needed to excel and grow.
This position requires hands-on leadership and the ability to inspire and develop team members. Restaurant Associate Managers serve as role models who embody the spirit of Cracker Barrel hospitality, ensuring that all employees share the same dedication to delivering a caring and memorable experience. The company fosters internal promotion opportunities, with nearly 100 percent of General Manager and District Manager openings filled by internal candidates. This commitment to career advancement means that ambitious leaders can build rewarding career paths while making meaningful contributions to the company.
Additionally, Cracker Barrel values the well-being of its employees by offering competitive compensation packages that include a salary with annual merit increases and quarterly bonuses. Benefits begin from day one and encompass medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage, along with life insurance, disability protection, paid vacation, and an employee assistance program. The company supports learning and development with tuition reimbursement and professional growth opportunities. Employees can also invest in their futures through a 401k plan with company matching contributions and an employee stock purchase program.
A unique aspect of working at Cracker Barrel is the strong culture of belonging and recognition. From onboarding through ongoing training, managers and staff receive the guidance and encouragement necessary to thrive. There are regular employee events and recognition programs designed to foster a supportive and inclusive community. Furthermore, employees enjoy exclusive discounts of 35 percent on Cracker Barrel food and retail items, along with additional perks such as savings on home, travel, cell phones, and more.
In summary, joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a company that values care, hospitality, and teamwork.
