Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a well-established restaurant chain known for its comforting Southern cuisine, unique retail offerings, and warm, welcoming atmosphere. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown into a beloved gathering spot for people looking to enjoy a homey dining experience combined with shopping for nostalgic gifts and country-style décor. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, the company prides itself on its commitment to providing more than just meals — it strives to deliver memorable moments through exceptional hospitality and a strong sense of community. This dedication has helped Cracker Barrel earn a reputation as a leader in the casual dining sector, emphasizing values of care, teamwork, and genuine service.

The role of Restaurant Manager at Cracker Barrel is pivotal to maintaining and enhancing this distinctive guest experience. As a Restaurant Manager, you are not merely overseeing operations; you are entrusted with shaping the atmosphere and culture of the restaurant both in the front and back of the house. Your leadership skills will be key to ensuring that guests feel valued and attended to, while team members are motivated, supported, and well-trained. This position requires balancing operational excellence — including managing inventory and ensuring smooth kitchen and dining room flow — with a people-first leadership style that inspires and develops the team.

This full-time position demands a capable and compassionate leader who thrives in a dynamic restaurant environment, managing everything from busy holiday shifts to daily operational challenges. Important qualities include the ability to stay calm under pressure, lead by example, and foster a positive working environment. Candidates must have 2-5+ years of successful restaurant management experience, with at least 1 year of experience specifically within Cracker Barrel establishments, confirming a good fit with the company culture and standards. Additionally, the role involves working approximately 50 hours per week, typically five 10-hour shifts, often including holidays and weekends. A valid driver’s license is also required.
