This job posting represents an opportunity to join a restaurant operated by an independent franchisee under the Del Taco brand, a well-known and fast-growing quick service restaurant (QSR) chain specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine. Unlike traditional corporate-run locations, this specific restaurant is owned and operated by an independent franchisee. This setup means the franchisee acts as your direct employer, managing all employment-related matters such as hiring decisions, staffing, wage settings, and disciplinary actions. The independent franchise nature ensures a closer, community-focused management style while maintaining the high standards and brand recognition offered by Del Taco. The restaurant is part of a respected quick service industry, providing customers with quality food and a welcoming atmosphere characterized by the "Del Taco Way." The role on offer is that of a Restaurant Manager, reporting directly to the Area Director. This is a leadership-focused position where you will be responsible for ensuring the restaurant delivers the Del Taco brand experience consistently, while also achieving key business goals such as sales growth, profitability, team development, and operational excellence. The Restaurant Manager leads the restaurant team by building a service-oriented culture, fostering teamwork and fun, and ensuring all employees are well-trained and motivated. This role requires keen operational oversight, including staffing, recruitment, scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to safety and hygiene regulations. As a pivotal figure within the stores' day-to-day activities, the Restaurant Manager monitors performance metrics, customer satisfaction, and local market dynamics to keep the outlet competitive and profitable.

Your leadership directly impacts not only the team morale but also the dining experience that customers receive. From promoting the brand standards by maintaining facility cleanliness and product quality, to executing marketing campaigns and improving sales targets, this role is dynamic, challenging, and rewarding. The manager will also handle administrative tasks such as salary reviews, disciplinary procedures, cash handling, and vendor management, making the position a comprehensive hybrid of operational and people management. Job Duties

  • Fully staff the store with quality people
  • Recruiting, hiring, and retaining all restaurant employees
  • Ensuring the entire team is certified according to the current training process at all times
  • Creating a service oriented culture
  • Promoting an environment of fun and teamwork
  • Evaluating performance and recommending salary increases
  • Recommending, approving, and administering disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination
  • Developing and growing team members and future managers
  • Executing Del Taco standards and using our processes and systems 100% of the time
  • Maintaining the facility and customer areas
  • Maintaining all equipment to operational and safety standards
  • Delivering only quality products to Del Taco standards every time
  • Adhering to cleaning schedules and standards

  • Ensuring POP and signage is present and in the approved location
  • Identifying and communicating sales goals (daily, weekly, year over year)

  • Identifying and executing Local Store Marketing opportunities to attract new customers
  • Staying aware of local events
  • Understanding the store's current trade area and competition
  • Executing speed (speed with a smile) and service standards
  • Flawlessly executing marketing promotions and campaigns
  • Maintaining staffing levels to actual sales
  • Complying with labor laws
  • Accurately ordering and managing inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft
  • Ensuring cash handling procedures and standards are in place and followed
  • Performing cash audits and addressing identified issues
  • Executing safety and health standards
  • Minimizing R&M / Supplies and Services costs by managing service vendors efficiently
  • Achieving and communicating controllable cost targets
  • Performing other responsibilities as assigned to respond to emergencies, workload changes, or technical developments
