Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by an independently owned and operated Del Taco franchise, distinct from Del Taco LLC. This means that the franchisee, rather than Del Taco LLC, is the direct employer responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, wage decisions, staffing, scheduling, and disciplinary actions. This setup provides a unique chance to join a restaurant environment with a strong brand identity backed by an independent business owner focused on local operational excellence and community engagement. The employer values a personalized approach to management and employee development, fostering a workplace culture centered on teamwork, growth, and customer satisfaction.
Del Taco is a well-known fast-casual restaurant brand specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine, offering a vibrant dining experience with a diverse menu favorite among many customers in the quick service restaurant (QSR) industry. The franchise is dedicated to delivering quality food and exceptional service through efficient operations and a committed team.
The role available is that of a Restaurant Manager who reports directly to the Area Director. This vital leadership position is tasked with upholding the Del Taco brand while driving sales growth and maximizing restaurant efficiency and profitability. The Manager will embody the "Del Taco Way," a framework that emphasizes excellence in service, team development, and operational standards. This position requires a hands-on leader who is skilled in building a strong team, managing staffing levels, and ensuring every customer interaction reflects the brand's commitment to quality and hospitality.
Key responsibilities include staffing the restaurant with capable and reliable employees, recruiting, hiring, and retaining talent, certification and training compliance, cultivating a customer-focused work environment, and fostering a culture of enjoyment and teamwork. The Manager will also evaluate employee performance, recommend salary adjustments, and handle disciplinary actions professionally and fairly. Development and growth of team members, including grooming future managers, are an important aspect of this role.
The Restaurant Manager will ensure that all operations align with Del Taco’s rigorous standards, from maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility and equipment to delivering consistently high-quality products. They will oversee the proper uniform adherence and consistency in service delivery, as well as maintain marketing materials and signage according to brand guidelines.
On the commercial side, the Restaurant Manager will strive to meet or exceed sales goals by understanding local market dynamics, executing local store marketing initiatives, and enhancing customer loyalty and satisfaction. The role involves smart staffing based on projected sales, improving capacity utilization, and driving promotions with flawless execution.
Financial stewardship is critical, including compliance with labor laws, inventory management, waste reduction, cash handling, and cost control. The Manager will collaborate with service vendors to minimize maintenance and supply expenses, ensuring profitability and operational smoothness.
Additionally, the position may require travel within the assigned region, including some overnight stays. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, reach, bend, and lift as necessary within a restaurant and office environment.
This comprehensive managerial role offers a chance to lead a dynamic team within a nationally recognized brand framework yet operating with the agility of a local franchise. Candidates interested in this position should be excited to contribute to a thriving business environment where dedication, leadership, and innovation are valued and rewarded. Employment remains at-will, reflecting a commitment to mutual respect and career development within an equal opportunity setting.
