Job Description
Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States, proudly operating a popular Australian-themed restaurant that has been delighting customers since its opening in March 1988. Outback Steakhouse is known for its commitment to quality food served in a fun and welcoming environment, highlighted by juicy steaks, spirited drinks, and authentic Aussie hospitality. The company places a strong emphasis on treating employees and customers "Just Right," fostering a culture of respect, camaraderie, and ongoing enthusiasm. This approach has led Out West Restaurant Group to receive multiple accolades, including the International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 and ranking number one in customer satisfaction among full-service restaurants in 2023. The group also actively supports non-profit organizations like California Care and CORE, which assist restaurant employees and their families during challenging times.
Outback Steakhouse advocates for fairness, respect, and equal opportunity in all employment practices. They do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status, maintaining compliance with federal and state laws. The restaurant group offers a workplace culture where hard work, perseverance, and leadership are recognized and rewarded. Employees enjoy robust benefits and a supportive environment designed to help them thrive both personally and professionally.
The Restaurant Manager role at Outback Steakhouse involves overseeing the daily front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations with minimal supervision. This position requires a leader who can uphold the restaurant's high standards, deliver an excellent customer experience, and provide clear direction and professional mentorship to team members. Managers will undergo an 11-week Manager in Training (MIT) program to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed within the company. The role focuses on optimizing labor and inventory costs, maintaining compliance with policies and procedures, ensuring food safety and quality, enhancing customer satisfaction, and driving sales and marketing efforts.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $57,784 to $60,000 annually, with additional bonus opportunities. The company emphasizes maintaining a work-life balance and targets an average 47-hour work week for managers. Other perks include a comprehensive health insurance plan (covering medical, dental, and vision for individuals and families), a 401k retirement plan, paid vacation and sick leave, group life and disability insurance, and various discount programs. The company also fosters a positive, hospitable work environment and provides numerous opportunities for career advancement, including leadership development programs.
