Job Description
Denny's is a well-established restaurant chain known for its commitment to providing a welcoming dining experience to guests across numerous locations. As a full-service family diner, Denny's emphasizes a friendly and respectful atmosphere where guests can enjoy high-quality meals around the clock. The company values strong leadership at every restaurant to uphold its brand standards and deliver excellent service, food quality, and a positive workplace environment. Denny's focuses on employee development, operational excellence, and maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
The role of Restaurant Manager at Denny's is critical to the success of each restaurant location. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Restaurant Manager supervises a team of 15 to 20 crew members and oversees the smooth execution of daily restaurant operations during their assigned shift. This role requires working a rotating schedule that includes day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. The Restaurant Manager works collaboratively with other peer managers and supervisors to support the overall leadership of the restaurant.
Restaurant Managers are entrusted with ensuring that guests consistently experience a respectful, enjoyable dining environment. They uphold service and quality standards that meet or exceed brand expectations, coaching employees to prioritize guest satisfaction and effectively addressing any customer concerns. The position demands a proactive leadership style, including mentoring and developing staff through training programs and feedback, promoting a harassment-free and communicative workplace, and assisting in hiring and retention efforts.
Operational duties include maintaining proper staffing levels, managing schedules, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and upholding Denny's brand protection policies. The Restaurant Manager plays a key role in understanding and managing financial aspects such as profit and loss statements, budgets, and cost controls to meet the restaurant's financial goals. They actively contribute to growth initiatives by supporting marketing efforts, sales strategies, and suggestive selling to drive guest count and profitability.
Safety, security, and asset management are also essential components of the role. The Restaurant Manager monitors procedures to safeguard guests, employees, and company property, ensuring that cash handling, discounts, and inventory controls are properly executed. Compliance with all company policies and governmental regulations is strictly maintained.
Physically, the role requires the ability to perform various tasks such as lifting trays and supplies, bending, stooping, operating point-of-sale systems, and standing or walking for extended shifts. Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a capacity to work effectively under pressure. The position also involves periodic travel and requires reliable transportation.
This position offers an annual salary ranging from $66,580 to $67,580, depending on location and experience, and represents an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to lead a team in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
