Job Description

This job opportunity is with an independently owned and operated Del Taco restaurant franchise. Unlike corporate positions, this job means you will be employed directly by the independent franchisee who owns and manages the particular restaurant. The franchisee is fully responsible for all employment-related matters including hiring, wages, discipline, staffing, scheduling, and supervision. This independence allows for a more localized management approach focused on the unique needs of the community and customers served.

Del Taco is a well-known fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine. The brand is recognized for its fresh ingredients, quick service, and commitment to quality. Working as a Restaurant Manager within an independent franchise means upholding the Del Taco brand standards and values in every aspect of restaurant operations, creating an exceptional customer experience in a fast-paced environment.

The Restaurant Manager position is reporting directly to the Area Director and plays a crucial role in maximizing the restaurant's sales, efficiency, and profitability by leading through The Del Taco Way. The role requires hands-on leadership, management expertise, and a passion for fostering a positive and service-oriented team culture. You will be accountable for recruiting, hiring, and retaining a quality workforce while ensuring that all employees are fully trained and certified according to current processes. Building a fun, teamwork-driven environment is essential to cultivate high employee engagement and excellent customer service.

This position involves executing Del Taco’s operational standards with fidelity, including maintaining the facility, equipment, and cleanliness, delivering consistent high-quality products, and ensuring all team members adhere to uniform policies. You will also be responsible for meeting or exceeding sales goals by monitoring customer traffic, implementing marketing initiatives, and enhancing customer loyalty. Financial and operational controls such as labor compliance, accurate inventory management, cash handling procedures, and cost control measures are key aspects of this role.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 to 5 years of experience in the quick-service restaurant or full-service industry, and be ServSafe certified. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are vital, as is the ability to lead diverse teams and motivate continuous learning and development. The role requires working under pressure with minimal supervision and the ability to travel within the assigned area, including overnight stays.

This opportunity provides a rewarding career path within the vibrant and growing QSR segment, emphasizing leadership, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Del Taco values equal employment opportunities and welcomes a diverse workforce. The restaurant embraces a discrimination and harassment-free workplace where all employees are respected and supported in their professional growth.
