The Restaurant Manager position at Del Taco offers an exciting leadership opportunity for an individual who is passionate about managing restaurant operations, driving sales growth, and upholding the Del Taco brand standards. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the Restaurant Manager plays a critical role in protecting and promoting the brand by providing a service-oriented culture, ensuring team members are fully trained and certified, and delivering consistent, high-quality products to customers. This role requires a strong focus on recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent to maintain a fully staffed store, while fostering an environment of teamwork, fun, and professional growth.

The Restaurant Manager must also be adept at managing resources efficiently to meet or exceed profitability targets. This involves overseeing staffing levels in accordance with sales projections, managing inventory to minimize waste and prevent theft, ensuring strict adherence to cash handling procedures, and maintaining the facility to operational and safety standards. Additionally, the manager is responsible for executing marketing promotions seamlessly while identifying local store marketing opportunities to attract new customers and increase customer counts and loyalty.

This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and analytical abilities, and the capability to lead and motivate a diverse team. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, solution-driven, and able to work independently under pressure. The role involves working in both office and restaurant settings, with some physical demands such as standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and traveling to restaurant locations within the assigned area, including occasional overnight travel.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years experience in QSR industry or full service concept
  • ServSafe certified
  • fluent in English, Spanish is plus

Job Duties

  • Fully staff the store with quality people
  • recruiting, hiring, and retaining all restaurant employees
  • ensuring the entire team is certified according to the current training process at all times
  • creating a service oriented culture
  • promoting an environment of fun and teamwork
  • evaluating performance and recommending salary increases
  • recommending, approving, and administering disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination
  • developing and growing team members and future managers
  • executing Del Taco standards and using processes and systems 100 percent of the time
  • maintaining the facility and customer areas
  • maintaining all equipment to operational and safety standards
  • delivering only quality products to Del Taco standards every time
  • adhering to cleaning schedules and standards
  • ensuring employees are in proper uniform
  • ensuring a consistent service experience
  • ensuring POP and signage is present and in the approved location
  • identifying and communicating sales goals
  • ensuring the right people are in the right places according to projected/actual sales
  • increasing customer count and check average, maximizing capacity and customer value
  • identifying and executing local store marketing opportunities
  • staying aware of local events and understanding the store's trade area and competition
  • executing speed and service standards
  • maintaining staffing levels to actual sales
  • complying with labor laws
  • accurately ordering and managing inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft
  • ensuring cash handling procedures and standards are in place and followed
  • performing cash audits and addressing identified issues
  • executing safety and health standards
  • minimizing R&M/Supplies and Services costs by managing service vendors efficiently
  • achieving and communicating controllable cost target
  • performing other responsibilities as assigned, adapting to changing circumstances.
