Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant chain known for its unique combination of wholesome Southern cooking, country store retail offerings, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly makes guests feel at home. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown significantly over the years, boasting a strong footprint with more than 70,000 team members nationwide. The company is deeply rooted in a culture of hospitality and community, where each meal is about more than just food – it’s about bringing people together to share moments and create lasting memories. Cracker Barrel prides itself on delivering not just delicious food but a complete guest experience that includes nostalgic decor, friendly service, and a variety of retail merchandise that pays homage to Southern traditions.

The role of a Cracker Barrel Restaurant Manager is pivotal within the company, as it encompasses the leadership and oversight of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. This is not simply a management position; it is a chance to lead a team dedicated to upholding the values of genuine hospitality and operational excellence. Restaurant Managers at Cracker Barrel play an integral role in coaching and developing team members, ensuring that every guest receives the memorable experience the brand is known for. This role demands someone who is able to balance an operational focus with a people-first mindset, keeping the team motivated and the restaurant running smoothly during busy shifts.

In this leadership position, the manager is responsible for managing inventory, setting an example on the floor, and inspiring the team to embrace the ethos of “Always Serving Up More Than a Meal.” They will ensure that both employees and guests feel valued, fostering an environment of inclusivity and support. Candidates should display strong people management skills, thrive under pressure, and possess a proven track record of successful restaurant management experience. The role requires a commitment of 50 hours per week, spread over five 10-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed, which reflects the company’s dedication to maintaining high service standards every day.

Cracker Barrel offers competitive compensation, including a competitive annual salary with annual merit increase opportunities and quarterly bonus potential that rewards performance. Beyond pay, the company invests heavily in the welfare and growth of its employees, offering medical, prescription, dental, and vision benefits starting on day one. Additional perks such as life insurance, disability coverage, paid vacation, and an employee assistance program further support the team’s well-being.

Professional growth is encouraged, with more than 90 percent of general manager and district manager positions filled internally. The manager will have access to tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities, helping them thrive and build a long-lasting career within the company. The culture at Cracker Barrel is one of belonging, where employees are supported through onboarding, ongoing training, and recognition programs designed to create a positive and collaborative workplace environment.

Furthermore, Cracker Barrel offers a robust 401(k) plan with company matching contributions after 90 days and an employee stock purchase program, underscoring the company’s commitment to its employees’ financial futures. Additional unique perks include a 35 percent discount on food and retail items, as well as access to exclusive offers on home goods, travel, cell phones, and more.

In summary, the Cracker Barrel Restaurant Manager position is ideal for an experienced leader who values people-centric management, operational excellence, and a sense of community. The role offers both professional and personal growth opportunities, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package. It’s a chance to join a beloved American brand that has stood the test of time by committing to genuine hospitality and creating moments that matter for guests and team members alike. If you’re passionate about leading a team and delivering exceptional service in a unique, culture-driven environment, Cracker Barrel invites you to apply and find your place in their good company.
