Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • One to three years of management-level hospitality or restaurant work experience required or minimum 6 months as a Shift Supervisor at Benihana with good performance
  • Proficiency in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping, and report preparation
  • Previous experience in teppanyaki-style restaurant preferred
  • Knowledge of computers MS Word, Excel
  • Valid driver’s license where applicable
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must agree to background check
  • ServSafe certified
  • Alcohol service certified preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversees and manages all areas of the restaurant and makes final decisions on guest service issues
  • Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints
  • Inspects dining room, food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to
  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and arranges for repairs, contracts and other services
  • Maintains appropriate restaurant image including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the restaurant
  • Coordinates scheduling of departments
  • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry per corporate guidelines
  • Leads store level events, initiatives, and marketing activities
  • Follows all federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations
  • Ensures sanitary food handling, cleanliness, and kitchen maintenance
  • Supervises inventories and estimates food and beverage costs
  • Supervises portion control to minimize waste
  • Estimates food needs, places orders, and schedules delivery of supplies
  • Verifies receipt of orders for correct quantities and pricing
  • Reviews financial information, monitors budgets, and takes action to prevent deviation
  • Adheres to company standards to increase sales and minimize costs
  • Completes financial, reporting, payroll, and administrative duties accurately
  • Provides direction to employees on operational issues
  • Interviews, selects and hires hourly employees
  • Conducts new hire orientations and trains employees
  • Develops employees with feedback and performance reviews
  • Prepares schedules to ensure adequate staffing
