Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus
  • ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • ability to stand and be mobile for up to ten hours
  • ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to read and write effectively
  • hand and finger dexterity for using small tools and equipment

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems
  • participates in constant development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation, and contributes to completion of written evaluations
  • assesses efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback regularly, and continuously works with employees on their areas of development
  • monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action
  • assures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • responsible for controlling cost in assigned department
  • compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at AD/GM's request and is accountable for completion
  • responsible for preparing and submitting accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on all store related technology
  • willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed when in a restaurant, including cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending
  • uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
