We are currently seeking motivated and energetic individuals to join Luby's team as Cooks within our Food Production department. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and enjoy working with a team dedicated to culinary excellence. Whether you are starting your culinary career or bringing experience to the table, Luby's offers comprehensive training to build valuable skills in cooking, food preparation, and kitchen operations. Positions available include Range Cook, Grill Cook, Fry Cook, Butcher, Salad and Vegetable Prep, as well as Pastry Prep, ensuring that our kitchen staff is versatile and capable of handling a broad range of culinary tasks.

As a Cook at Luby's, you will be responsible for receiving and stocking inventory, preparing and cooking various menu items, assembling orders accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times. Adhering to standard operating procedures is essential to uphold the food safety and quality standards that our customers expect. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • must be able to read and follow recipes to maintain consistency and high-quality menu items
  • must have good organizational skills
  • open to varied work schedules and hours depending on the restaurant's needs
  • must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds
  • must be able to stand for several hours and walk for long periods of time
  • must be a team player
  • must be willing to be certified on specific equipment such as a Band Saw, Buffalo Chopper, Meat Tenderizer, Mixer and Potato Peeler after hiring

Job Qualifications

  • previous cooking or food production experience preferred
  • basic understanding of food preparation techniques
  • ability to follow recipes accurately
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • willingness to learn and obtain necessary equipment certifications

Job Duties
