Yia Yia's House Of Gyros Mesquite is a well-established restaurant located in Mesquite, TX, known for its authentic and delicious gyros and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant prides itself on delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service in a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. As a part of the broader Yia Yia's House Of Gyros brand, this location is committed to maintaining the traditional flavors while ensuring modern standards of food safety and hygiene. The Mesquite branch is well-regarded in the local community, attracting both regular patrons and new customers eager to experience its unique menu offerings. This establishment offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities, providing flexibility for individuals looking to join a dynamic and growing team.

The role of a Restaurant Line Cook at Yia Yia's House Of Gyros Mesquite is an integral part of the culinary team. Reporting directly to the culinary management team, the line cook plays a crucial role in the execution of all line station menu items. This position requires strict adherence to recipe and plate presentation specifications to ensure consistency and quality in every order. Line cooks at Yia Yia's are expected to work efficiently within specific production times, maintaining the safety and sanitation standards set by the restaurant. This role demands the ability to prioritize tasks, manage cooking and preparation timelines, and collaborate effectively with the rest of the back-of-house staff.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up their station with all necessary products, utensils, and equipment, ensuring readiness for meal service. They must meet daily productivity standards and adjust ingredients or preparation methods to accommodate special guest requests. An essential part of the job is maintaining cleanliness and organization by properly cleaning workstations and storing food securely to set up the next meal shift for success. At the end of each shift, line cooks must complete all assigned duties and sidework to the standards expected by the management team. The position demands a proactive approach to teamwork and a commitment to maintaining a positive and supportive work environment. Additional tasks and projects may be assigned, requiring flexibility and a willingness to contribute beyond the core responsibilities.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills, the ability to memorize and accurately reproduce recipes, and the physical stamina to stand for up to 10 hours during shifts. The role can involve working in environments with significant temperature variations, and employees should be capable of handling stress in a constructive manner. While having ServSafe (Food Handlers Certification) is considered a plus, it is not mandatory before starting as it can be obtained afterwards. This position offers a great opportunity for culinary professionals who seek to grow in a fast-paced restaurant environment that values quality, teamwork, and professional development. Yia Yia's House Of Gyros Mesquite looks forward to welcoming new team members dedicated to upholding its high standards and contributing to its continued success.
