We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic PM Part-Time Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining the kitchen's cleanliness and safety from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The position requires attention to detail in following recipes, quality, and presentation standards. The Line Cook will operate various kitchen equipment, monitor food quality, and ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices. This part-time position offers a dynamic work environment within a well-respected hotel and conference center, ideal for individuals passionate about food preparation and hospitality. Job Requirements
- Able to stand sit or walk for extended periods during work shift
- able to reach overhead and below knees including bending twisting pulling and stooping
- able to move lift carry push pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
- follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
- complete safety training and certifications
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- speak clearly and professionally
- report maintenance needs accidents injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- basic food safety knowledge
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- good communication skills
- ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
- wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
- weigh measure and mix ingredients
- prepare and cook food according to recipes quality standards presentation standards and food preparation checklist
- prepare cold foods
- operate ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
- test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- monitor food quality while preparing food
- set-up and break down work station
- serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles
- wash and disinfect kitchen area tables tools knives and equipment
- check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
