As part of Caesars Entertainment, one of the largest and most diversified casino-entertainment companies in the United States and worldwide, Caesars New Orleans offers an extraordinary environment where team members are valued and empowered to deliver remarkable experiences. Since its foundation beginning in Reno, Nevada, in 1937, Caesars Entertainment has expanded to operate many iconic resorts and casinos under well-known brand names such as Caesars®, Harrah's®, Horseshoe®, and Eldorado®. The company is committed to its team members, customers, communities, and the environment through its People Planet Play corporate social responsibility framework.
The restaurant within Caesars New Orleans, known as Emeril's Kitchen, offers guests a unique culinary experience with a focus on exceptional service combined with a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. The Restaurant Host/Hostess role is critical in ensuring that every guest receives excellent service from the moment they enter the restaurant. This position is on-site and involves direct interaction with customers, coordinating seating, managing frontline staff, and maintaining a smooth operation during assigned shifts.
As a Restaurant Host/Hostess, the individual is responsible for greeting guests quickly and warmly, seating them with a smile, and being proactive in promoting different seating areas such as the bar and patio to enhance guest satisfaction. The host/hostess must be vigilant about the table status and control seating times to ensure efficient guest flow. This role also extends to assisting the service team by bussing tables, taking drink orders, and rolling silverware when necessary, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Financial responsibilities include accurately handling cash transactions, ringing up all sales using the cash register, and maintaining control of the cash drawer to minimize variance. The host/hostess acts as a role model, setting the tone for professionalism, complying with company appearance and behavior standards, and helping to resolve customer problems and complaints courteously and effectively.
This position requires the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, reflecting the dynamic and fast-paced nature of the hospitality industry. Candidates should possess at least one year of customer service experience, basic math skills, and the ability to count cash accurately. Knowledge of reservation systems like OpenTable is recommended. The role also demands physical stamina to maneuver throughout the restaurant, work under pressure, and tolerate secondary smoke exposure. Strong communication skills and the capacity to respond to both visual and auditory cues are essential for success.
Caesars New Orleans fosters a family-style service approach, emphasizing warmth, respect, and genuine connections both within the team and with guests. By joining this team, a Restaurant Host/Hostess will contribute to creating extraordinary experiences that embody the company’s mission to "Create the Extraordinary" and uphold core values such as "Together We Win," "All-In on Service," and "Blaze the Trail." This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to grow their careers within a renowned and supportive company committed to excellence and community engagement.
