Job Description

SLS Hotel a Luxury Collection Hotel Beverly Hills is a distinguished establishment located in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, California. As part of The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts portfolio, which features over 120 hotels in more than 35 countries, this hotel offers guests authentic and memorable experiences through exceptional service and a rich cultural connection to its location. The Luxury Collection brand, stemming from a heritage that began in 1906 with the iconic Italian CIGA hotels, represents a commitment to surpassing the expectations of luxury travelers. Guests at SLS Hotel can expect an atmosphere that blends legendary opulence with modern comfort, creating a unique portal to the rich charm and cultural treasures of Beverly Hills. This prestigious property cultivates an environment that celebrates the fusion of diverse cultures, talents, and experiences, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff. Moreover, Marriott International, which owns The Luxury Collection, is dedicated to maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce, ensuring equal opportunities and embracing all backgrounds without discrimination. This commitment extends to qualified applicants with criminal histories and those with disabilities or veteran status, reflecting the company’s values of respect and equity.

The role available at SLS Hotel is a full-time, non-management position within the Food and Beverage and Culinary category. This position is crucial in delivering outstanding hospitality service to hotel guests and visitors by performing various front-of-house duties. The employee in this role will be responsible for greeting guests promptly, assessing the number of party members, and seating them efficiently in clean and well-arranged dining areas while ensuring menus are updated and presentable. The job requires guiding guests throughout the dining rooms, rearranging tables and chairs to accommodate special group needs, and ensuring that each place setting is appropriately arranged with clean napkins, utensils, and other essentials. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas throughout the day is vital to uphold the high standards of the hotel.

Additionally, the role involves monitoring seat availability, service quality, and guest safety to create a secure and enjoyable dining environment. Adherence to all safety policies and company procedures is mandatory, including reporting accidents and unsafe conditions to managers. Staff must maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality and protection of company assets. Effective communication skills are necessary, as the position includes answering phones using appropriate protocols and interacting courteously with guests and coworkers. The role also requires teamwork to meet common goals and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds. The hotel expects individuals in this role to exhibit professionalism, responsibility, and dedication to service excellence.

Compensation starts at an hourly rate of $26.04, with scheduled increases to $29.30 per hour after nine months and $32.55 per hour after eighteen months of employment. This position is tip-eligible, further enhancing income potential. The role does not require supervisory experience or specific certifications. A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is preferred, though no prior experience in food service is mandatory as training and development are provided. Candidates with previous experience in hospitality environments are valued but not required. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally within a world-renowned hospitality group that embraces diversity and inclusion and promotes a vibrant, supportive workplace environment where employees are encouraged to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to guest satisfaction and company success.
