Known for creating memorable moments, bringing dreams to life, and delivering unmatched perfection, Coury Hospitality prides itself on personalized and thoughtful service from the moment guests arrive. Their commitment to excellence and authenticity fosters an environment where employees can be their true selves and thrive professionally. As specialists in crafting unique guest experiences, Coury Hospitality is more than a workplace; it is a vibrant community of Experience Curators who are passionate about setting new standards in the hospitality industry.

The Host Person plays a pivotal role in this dynamic environment as the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager within the Food and Beverage department, the position is classified as Non-Exempt. This role is essential for delivering high-quality service and ensuring guests receive a warm and professional welcome. The Host Person’s responsibilities include greeting guests with a genuine smile and eye contact, managing reservations and waitlists with precision, accurately calculating table turn times, and maintaining seamless communication between guests, servers, and management. Their duties extend to answering dining room telephones, anticipating and managing seating delays proactively, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host workstation.

Beyond these operational tasks, the Host Person serves as a critical liaison fostering a congenial atmosphere in the dining area. They must possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu, daily specials, unavailable items, and frequent guest preferences to personalize the dining experience effectively. This requires strong multitasking capabilities and the ability to prioritize and organize tasks in high-pressure situations. The role also demands familiarity with server station assignments to balance workload distribution among service staff optimally.

Physical demands include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an eight-hour shift, lift and carry trays and bins weighing up to 40 pounds, and perform tasks requiring reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects. The position mandates wearing closed-toe, non-canvas, non-skid-soled shoes as part of the personal protective equipment requirements.

Successful candidates will have at least one year of restaurant or customer service experience, preferably previous server experience, and will have completed the restaurant's training course. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and candidates must be at least sixteen years old (twenty-one to serve alcoholic beverages). Coury Hospitality values excellent personal presentation, interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain punctuality and attendance, with flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
