The Host role at JAX Fish House & Oyster Bar serves as a critical first and last impression for every guest walking through the door. The Host is responsible for greeting guests with genuine Southern hospitality, managing waitlists and the seating chart with proficiency, and ensuring each visitor feels welcomed and valued from arrival to departure. This position requires someone with a warm, award-winning smile, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate must be personable, detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of maintaining composure under pressure. The Host acts as the ultimate party starter, helping set the energetic and friendly tone that defines the restaurant’s vibe. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with a flexible schedule designed to accommodate nights and weekends. Compensation ranges from $22.00 to $27.00 per hour, with an average starting wage of $24 per hour and opportunities to earn more through a team service tip pool model where tips are shared among hourly employees. The role also provides paid sick time, tips, and training for responsible alcohol service certification if needed.
