The Host/Hostess role at Lessing's Hospitality Group is a dynamic and customer-focused position integral to the guest experience within their restaurants. As the first point of contact, the Host/Hostess plays a vital role in setting the tone for guests’ visits by warmly greeting and seating patrons, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth communication between guests and kitchen staff. The role requires excellent multi-tasking skills to handle seating arrangements appropriately, present menus, take orders accurately, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of dining spaces. Additionally, the host/hostess assists with event-related tasks like setting up tables and maintaining both interior and exterior restaurant areas. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to greet and assist guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Effective communication skills
- Capacity to manage reservations and seating arrangements
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Basic knowledge of menu items and restaurant operations is a plus
Job Duties
- Greet guests and patrons personally and on the telephone
- Offer appropriate seating arrangements
- Present menus and take orders
- Ensure the quantity of menus is sufficient to cater to the number of guests
- Relay orders to the kitchen and ensure all orders are filled in a timely and accurate fashion
- Set up dining rooms and make reservation arrangements
- Maintain clean and organized tables and work area
- Manage event related work including setting up tables and maintaining both exterior and interior of the restaurant
