The Restaurant General Manager role is a critical leadership position within this esteemed restaurant company. This role bears primary responsibility for the overall operational and financial success of the restaurant managed. The Restaurant General Manager (RGM) serves as a key informational source for the restaurant team and ensures 100% compliance with company and government regulations, including food safety protocols, Department of Labor requirements, and asset protection measures. Maintaining the integrity of company products, brand image, and reputation within the community is a vital aspect of this role. The RGM is tasked with securing company assets such as cash, equipment, and inventory in accordance with established company policies.

Accountability in this role encompasses multiple dimensions including people development, employee relations, customer service, financial management, operational procedures, compliance, and marketing. The RGM is responsible for recruiting, training, and developing a competent management and team member workforce. Implementing structured orientation and training programs, fostering a positive and motivating work environment, and conducting timely performance reviews ensure high employee engagement and retention standards are met.

Exemplary customer service is paramount, with the RGM leading by example to achieve utmost guest satisfaction. Managing financial controls such as employee labor, food costs, supplies, audits, and cash management is essential to meet company standards and uphold profitability. Operationally, the RGM develops core behaviors, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, oversees cleanliness, and enforces preventive maintenance programs. The role requires effective communication with the District Manager regarding operational variances and employee issues.

Furthermore, the RGM actively participates in marketing initiatives to enhance business growth by recognizing traffic patterns and adjusting staffing accordingly. Building strong relationships with restaurant teams, management, vendors, and customers underpins the success of this position. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum three years of restaurant management experience including P and L responsibility
  • proficiency in managing multiple shifts independently
  • food safety certification according to state or local regulations
  • valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record for roles requiring business driving
  • effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong leadership and organizational abilities
  • ability to operate under minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks
  • commitment to upholding company standards and policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • three years restaurant management experience with profit and loss responsibility
  • proven experience managing all shifts without supervision
  • advanced studies in business restaurant management or related field preferred
  • food safety certification as per state or local requirements
  • valid driver’s license and insurance for positions requiring driving
  • acceptable driving record for district managers and assistant store leaders with significant business driving responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Recruit train and develop successful assistant managers shift managers and team members
  • implement and utilize employee orientation programs
  • facilitate development and training plans for restaurant team

  • deliver at or above company standards in voice of customer initiatives
  • utilize blast to respond to guest complaints empowering team to resolve issues
  • follow up on guest complaints
  • manage restaurant financial controllables including labor overtime food supplies audits cash management and bank deposits
  • maintain and protect company assets
  • develop core behaviors and standards
  • ensure training compliance and update operational manuals
  • follow proper opening closing safety and security procedures
  • maintain cleanliness and preventative maintenance programs
  • ensure compliance with municipal state and federal codes health inspections and sanitation procedures
  • utilize food safety checklist and ensure adherence to food safety standards
  • communicate operational variances and employee issues to district manager
  • monitor deletions and over rings to ensure adherence to company standards
  • complete employee and restaurant paperwork timely
  • comply with company policies
  • implement and execute marketing programs
  • recognize business generators and plan shifts accordingly
