As the General Manager at Wooden Paddle, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the restaurant's performance and ongoing growth. This full-time, on-site position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $105,000, complemented by bonus pay based on performance metrics. You'll lead the helm of all restaurant operations, ensuring a premium guest experience that aligns with the brand's vibrant and welcoming identity. The role is designed for a strong and experienced leader, someone who is passionate about hospitality and thrives on optimizing systems, processes, and team dynamics to run a high-volume restaurant smoothly and profitably.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on hiring and developing a highly capable and motivated team, spearheading a culture of playful hospitality and exceptional guest satisfaction. As the champion of operations, you will ensure that both front-of-house and back-of-house activities meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality from opening to close. Managing profitability will be a key focus as you work to maximize sales while controlling costs, leveraging your expertise in P&L management and budget optimization. Beyond internal responsibilities, you will also act as a brand ambassador, engaging actively with the local community to strengthen the restaurant’s presence and appeal.

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of high-volume restaurant experience in a General Manager, or equivalent, role
  • proven experience hiring, staffing, and leading teams
  • proven experience actively managing costs in a high-volume hospitality operation
  • upscale or fine-dining restaurant experience in a General Manager role - a major plus
  • must have current ServSafe Manager and BASSET Certifications
  • must be at least 21 years old
  • must have open availability - including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must have the ability to regularly work 50-ish hours per week
  • physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and keep up with the pace of busy restaurant
  • must have a valid driver's license and sole access to a personal vehicle
  • must have access to a personal computer or tablet for administrative tasks
  • familiarity with Toast, SevenRooms, 7Shifts, and Margin Edge, a plus

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience actively managing costs in a high-volume hospitality operation
  • upscale or fine-dining restaurant experience in a General Manager role is a major plus
  • current ServSafe Manager and BASSET certifications
  • familiarity with Toast, SevenRooms, 7Shifts, and Margin Edge is a plus
  • valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
  • strong leadership and team development skills
