The role of a General Manager at Salata is multifaceted and crucial to the success of every restaurant location. General Managers act as chefs, bankers, trainers, schedulers, administrators, and leaders. They are responsible for assembling and leading restaurant teams, overseeing all aspects of daily operations, and ensuring the highest level of food quality and guest satisfaction. This includes managing, training, and scheduling all staff members as well as supervising restaurant administration functions such as financial reporting, banking, and operational systems. The General Manager also plays an integral role in representing the company professionally and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
This position demands keen attention to detail, superior organizational skills, and a positive attitude to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and exceeds customer expectations. The General Manager must have a strong background in management with experience in hiring, financial oversight, and operational leadership preferred. Open availability is required, including willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays to provide support and oversight whenever the business needs it. The physical demands of the role include standing for prolonged periods and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
The General Manager’s daily responsibilities include generating weekly schedules to manage labor cost effectively, overseeing money transactions and bank deposits, recruiting and training new employees, resolving employee issues in compliance with company policies, conducting performance management tasks such as staff evaluations and corrective actions, and coordinating food orders aligned with company goals. The role requires constant monitoring of personnel to ensure adherence to appearance, uniform policies, quality control, and customer service standards.

Job Duties
- represent the company in a professional manner at all times

- resolve employee issues including shift call-outs according to company policy

- collect and account for all money transactions daily
- coordinate bank deposits, daily invoicing and paperwork
- review applications, recruit, interview, hire and train new employees
- recommend promotion or termination of employees
- conduct performance management duties including evaluations and corrective actions
- coordinate store food orders based on company goals
- observe personnel for compliance with appearance, uniform, customer service, quality control and standards
- stand on feet for prolonged periods
- lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- perform any other duties assigned or requested
