Job Description
Border Foods started as a humble vision shared by two brothers to open a Mexican restaurant and has since blossomed into one of the largest privately held Taco Bell franchisees in the United States. This establishment is deeply rooted in the values of family, integrity, teamwork, and excellence, distinguishing itself as a company that prioritizes its people at every level. From cooks to cashiers, restaurant managers, and beyond, Border Foods operates under a people-first mantra, creating a collaborative environment where every team member is empowered to grow personally and professionally.
Operating within the quick-service restaurant industry, Border Foods has earned a reputation not just for the food they serve but also for their commitment to building thriving work cultures. They emphasize creating safe, welcoming, and supportive environments where employees feel valued and motivated to contribute their best. This approach has been instrumental in driving the company’s remarkable growth and fostering strong community ties.
The role of General Manager at Border Foods is pivotal to continuing this legacy. The General Manager leads the entire restaurant’s operations, focusing on reinforcing the core values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. This is a management position with a salary range of $50,000 to $100,000 per year, including base pay and significant bonus potential, reflecting the high expectations and leadership responsibilities involved.
In this position, the General Manager is not only responsible for the day-to-day operational success of the restaurant but also for building and nurturing a strong team that delivers exceptional food and a quality customer experience. They drive performance by ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while fostering a culture that motivates employees to achieve their fullest potential. This role requires strategic planning skills, knowledge of profit and loss management, and expertise in recruitment and training.
General Managers at Border Foods are empowered to create positive experiences that enhance both employee satisfaction and guest encounters. The company provides extensive support through education programs like GED and tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and robust benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance for all positions, even part-time. Additionally, Border Foods offers excellent perks such as free food, paid time off, holiday pay, and a unique vacation donation program – all designed to support the well-being and development of its employees.
Moreover, Border Foods values performance and rewards excellence through an annual Best of the Best trip to Mexico for top performing General Managers, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating its leaders. The physical demands of this role are manageable, involving sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving throughout the workday, accommodating necessary accommodations.
Joining Border Foods as a General Manager means becoming part of a dynamic and inspiring culture. It is a chance to lead with integrity, facilitate teamwork, and achieve operational excellence while contributing to the growth of one of America's leading Taco Bell franchisees. This role offers a vibrant career path, combining leadership, hands-on management, and community engagement in a supportive and rewarding environment.
